One Strong Belief
As part of Seth Godin’s Trust 30: 30-day Writing Challenge, I will be putting up a new post, each day this month based on the predetermined subject.
Today’s topic: What’s one strong belief you possess that isn’t shared by your closest friends or family?
God is Good
It’s simple and it’s true.
Bad things happen. Bad things even happen to good people. But still God is good.
Some people believe in karma. But karma is the most deceitful, wretched lie that mankind has ever been sold. As borrowed from Wikipedia, the theistic view of karma can be summed up as “”God does not make one suffer for no reason nor does He make one happy for no reason. God is very fair and gives you exactly what you deserve.”
Why this is complete nonsense:
I don’t know why God makes one suffer, or be happy.
God is not fair, but God is just. Fairness and justice are not the same thing. Justice is must more important.
Lastly, and most importantly God does not give us exactly what we deserve.
This is good news of Jesus Christ, the forgiveness of sin, and the glory of His death on the cross, and His resurrection.
Yes, this is one strong belief that I have, and it’s not shared by all of my friends, family, co-workers, etc…but I wish that it were.
